Home Information Packs (HIPs)
(See also Conveyancing - Buying/Selling Property)
With effect from 21 May 2010 Home Information Packs (HIPs) have been suspended. This means that any homes put on the market on or after that date will no longer need a HIP. However, you will still need to have at least instructed an accredited Energy Assessor, to carry out an energy assessment on your home before you can put it on the market. However, you do not necessarily need to have received the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) that they would produce before you can start marketing your home. An Energy Assessor can easily be instructed through your estate agent or alternatively we can assist you with this.
