Martyn joined the Firm in 1975, and is a corporate and commercial lawyer. He has more than 25 years experience in commercial matters which includes: buying and selling all kinds of businesses; creating new businesses from scratch; advising on commercial business requirements such as acquiring / disposing of premises or land stock, or setting up and disposing of domestic or industrial units and schemes, and all aspects of commercial leases.
 
Martyn is the company secretary of a large number of local companies, including both trading and flat management companies, using his expertise to provide advice and guidance as necessary throughout the year.
 
Born in Northampton in 1954, Martyn has always been a keen sportsman, and is both a nationally qualified hockey umpire and senior national hockey coach. He can still play hockey at veteran level and coaches at a local grammar school. Martyn also holds a senior coaching certificate from the National Cricket Association, and enjoys a round of competitive golf whenever he can. . 
 
Music has always been an important part of Martyn’s life. He regards himself as an ‘Ageing Average Blues Guitarist’, and still plays regularly in a local Blues/Rock Band, featuring music from the 1970’s & 80’s.
 
Martyn is a keen supporter of Business Network International, is one of the founder members of the Christchurch Priory Chapter, and a former Chapter Director. He is currently the Education Director.
