John is Senior Partner and Head of the Family Law Team. He has over 30 years experience of all aspects of family law including divorce, financial proceedings and children related issues both within married and unmarried families.
John is also an accredited family law specialist with Resolution and has been a Deputy District Judge for over 20 years. He is also an extremely experienced advocate.
John has handled many high value and high profile divorces over the years. He has particular expertise in relation to family businesses and limited companies and divorces involving solicitors, doctors and accountants.
His experience enables him to look at the bigger picture and deal with matters in a sensitive, practical and non-confrontational manner, but at the same time adopting a tough approach when necessary. He is a strong advocate of parties and solicitors meeting and discussing the relevant issues with a view to finding common ground.

Originally from Birmingham and growing up in Winchester, John met his wife Sheila shortly after moving to Bournemouth and together they have fostered children as well as having two of their own. They have been renovating a run-down 1930’s house in three acres of wilderness and John describes himself as a ‘chainsaw gardener’.
They have owned a home in Mallorca for over 20 years where John offers divorce and family advice to English ex-pats living on the island.
He and his wife are both loyal Southampton Football Club and Real Mallorca Football Club supporters.
