New Employment Solicitor Joins the Team
Harold G Walker, one of Bournemouth’s leading solicitors’ practices, have recently welcomed Dee Woodcock to their team. Dee will be working as an Employment Solicitor, based at their head office in Oxford Road, Bournemouth. She joins the team with extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious cases, in the private and business sectors. She is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Dee's contentious experience includes advising on unfair dismissal, redundancy, disability, TUPE, sex and race discrimination and breach of contract claims. She also advises on how to conduct capability, disciplinary, dismissal and grievance hearings.
Dee's non-contentious experience includes preparing and reviewing contracts of employment, director service agreements, consultancy agreements, compromise agreements, staff handbooks, company policies and procedures. She also advises on the employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions, varying terms of employment and restructuring and redundancies.
In her new role, Dee will be working closely with 3 partners at the firm: Hugh Storry Deans (Litigation), Martyn Hudson (Commercial) and Simon Nethercott (Commercial Property), assisting the latter two with their transactional work.
Hugh, comments: “I am delighted to welcome Dee to our Employment department. Dee’s recruitment comes at an important time for the firm, as we have recently seen an increasing demand from clients for employment advice. Dee’s specialism and experience in this area of law means that we can confidently meet their needs. Dee will also be able to provide invaluable commercial advice to our Corporate and Commercial Property Departments who are experiencing an increase in demand for their services.”
Dee originally indulged in her love of Classical Studies at Royal Holloway before studying law at the College of Law in Guildford. She initially trained with niche employment firm Langley & Co (now Archon), in London, before making a move to the south coast to join Trethowans solicitors in 2002. Dee joined Harold G Walker in March 2008.
Outside of work, Dee thoroughly enjoys travelling, and has recently completed trips to South America and China to name just two. Dee’s ultimate dream destination is to visit the Galapagos Islands. Closer to home, Dee enjoys living in this part of the country within easy reach of the sea and New Forest.
